Is Delicious Raspberry deer resistant?

Most people in Colorado know it as boulder raspberry, and the flowers are the reason to grow it: large, white, far closer to a wild rose than to anything in the fruit line, carried on arching canes with peeling cinnamon-colored bark. It is spineless throughout, which is unusual in this genus, and deer tend to leave it be.

The fruit is sparse — the Extension description says as much — and four to six feet of shrub sold as delicious raspberry will disappoint anyone who plants it for a crop. Take it for the flowers in late spring and the bark through winter and it holds up.

It is also one of the few shrubs here that is genuinely shade tolerant, which makes it useful on the north side of a wall or worked in among pines. Foothills conditions suit it, roughly 4,500 to 9,000 feet, on low to moderate water and sharp drainage.
