Is Pale Purple Coneflower deer resistant?

The rays hang straight down from a big spiny cone, narrow and in a pink so pale it can read as white, over stout stems and coarse-haired leaves that deer tend to walk past.

Do not divide it. Splitting a clump is the ordinary way to increase a perennial and the reliable way to ruin this one: it comes back as a mass of thin stems carrying almost no flowers, and the next season does not put it right. Raise it from seed instead. Sow in fall, or give the seed a spell of moist cold and sow in spring, and move the plants while they are young — they transplant easily at that stage.

Full sun, but no need to starve it. It will take moist ground or dry, acid or lime, and it does better where there is something in the soil, so the gravel treatment is wrong here. Cut the old stems down in early spring.
